Breaking Out My Crochet Hook

Saw a crocheted star that I had to have.  Used my size H hook and some Peaches and Cream white cotton yarn.  Used the tutorial here.  Each star took about 15 to 18 minutes.  This was a fun easy project.  I'm going to make more.  Of course these will go to dear daughter for her Christmas tree.

Yarn Hat Christmas Ornaments

I've been wanting to make these for the last couple of years but I didn't have the time until now.  I found several youtube tutorials on how to make these.  I used a 1 inch section of a toilet paper roll as the basis for this hat.  I got three pieces from one toilet paper roll, hence the three ornaments you see here.  I ended up cutting my yarn pieces about 12" long and I cut 50 of them to make sure it covered the entire piece of cardboard.  It took me about 10 minutes to cut the yarn and another 40 minutes to secure the yarn onto the piece of cardboard and finish the ornament.

More Snowmen

All the snowmen ornaments are done.  I will not be making any more of these this year.  I still have more white wool, buttons and beads to make more, but they will have to wait.  It took me a whole week to make these ornaments in my spare time.   I will be sharing these with my dear daughter.  These snowmen were so much fun to make, but it's time to move along and get started on other projects.

Time To Think About Christmas Sewing and Making

    It's never too early to think about Christmas decorations.  I'm probably going to start my Christmas ornament making next month.   

     This is a quick post to give you a link to a video tutorial on how to make a cute snowman Christmas ornament.  I watch a knitting podcast on youtube called Craft House Magic.  Ellie has a video on how to hand sew an adorable snowman Christmas ornament.  She even provides viewers with a .pdf template for the shape of the snowman.  Which is great because I can't draw.   Her tutorial is wonderful, she shows you exactly how to make the whole ornament in a 24 minute video.  I have some white wool felt on order to make several of these lovelies for family and friends.
