My Tiered Tray Treasures

I bought a tiered tray about 3 weeks ago.  I eventually want to fill it with cross stitch pillows and the like.  I currently have little knick knacks on it.  I bought some and I had some in my collection.

Here is a picture of the entire tiered tray.

I had to add the blue gingham fabric to the tray to make it fit in with what is in my kitchen and the blue curtains in my dining room.  I bought a wooden letter B and painted it navy blue, I bought the little blue frame and put a picture of my daughter with her doggie in it.  The other picture in the family photo holder is a picture of me with my brothers taken at the family wedding we all attended in June 2019.  I bought the blue beads and strung them on twine.  I added the blue soapstone kitty cat figurines.  I made some crocheted lace to put on the spool which is the stand for a tiny tabby cat ceramic.  The red gingham cocoa mug is a piece from my childhood.  My father bought a mug for each of his three kids.    I treasure that mug.  My father died when I was 5.5 years old.  I bought the little creamers that are holding my ceramic kitty measuring spoons.  I also bought a  heart rock, a blue star, and the white house that lights up.  The plaid fabric heart is one I sewed up in a hurry to get some soft stuff in my tiered tray.  I also have a small ceramic aqua colored watering can that I added to the tray.  Not in keeping with my colors, but it is small and cute.

Simple Embroidery I Want To Do.

I have a lovely embroidery pattern I bought a month ago that I want to stitch.  It by Kathy Schmitz.  I saw this stitched by Barbara Stanbro of Cat Patches.  It was awesome.  I have this project kitted up, but I haven't traced it yet.

I also have a book of Christmas smalls by Kathy Schmitz that is on my to do list.

My Cross Stitch Stash- I Better Learn How To Do This

I have several individual charts, 4 sets of Q-snaps (2 sets of 6 inch, 1 - 8 inch, 1 - 11 inch) some needles, six books of ornaments and smalls, and several pieces of Aida fabric.

Here are some of the charts I have.  I have not kitted these up, but I have the chart, so that's a beginning.

Berry Days at Thistle Down Farm by Brenda Gervais.  I bought this from 123Stitch.com

This is a kit I found on ebay

Christmas Jar Ornaments.  This is a kit I think I bought from 123Stitch.com

I found this chart on etsy

Cinnamon Stars by Plum Street Samplers.  I bought this from 123Stitch.com

Grandma's Quilt by Little House Needleworks.  I bought this from 123Stitch.com

Patchwork Sewing Machine by Michaela Learner.  I bought it from her etsy shop called Chartsandstuff

Books I have for counted cross stitch include lots of small Christmas ornaments.

1.  The Complete Book of Cross Stitch and Counted Thread Techniques by Eleanor Van Zandt for Readers Digest.

2.  The Encyclopedia of Cross Stitch Techniques by Betty Barnden

3.  Better Homes and Gardens A Cross Stitch Christmas Timeless Treasures published in 2000

1.  Better Homes and Gardens A Cross Stitch Christmas Needlework Treasures published in 2003.
2.  Sweet Nothings for Christmas 9 Cross Stitch designs by Judy Whitmas for Leisure Arts
3.  Fast & Festive 50 Christmas Designs - Cross Stitch for Leisure Arts from the Design Works Crafts,          Inc. Collection

I also have this chart which was a freebie I found on line.  I started this, but I was having trouble with stitching, so I put it down.

With all these supplies, it's time to learn how to cross stitch.

Crocheted Christmas Tree Garland is finished.

I finished sewing all the pieces together, then I braided the four 80 foot strands of crochet to make the garland.  It took a while to braid it together but it is now done and I am happy with the result.  Dear daughter has not seen the end result yet.  She wasn't sold on the original idea but I think she will grow to love it as she uses it each year.

I am moving on sewing more cloth napkins, starting some embroidery projects, and making patriotic decorations.  I have a quilt top that is almost half done that needs to be worked on and I want to start doing cross stitch.  I have to learn how to cross stitched.  I tried cross stitching last year but I was having trouble getting into it.  I decided recently that I must have been having trouble seeing the fabric so I bought a pair of magnifiers that you wear on you face like a pair of glasses.   So no more excuses, I have to learn to cross stitch because I have several books of Christmas ornaments and several charts to stitch.

Update On Crocheted Christmas Tree Garland

So I started crocheting this Christmas tree garland on February 11, 2021.  I finished crocheting all 168 pieces on April 1, 2021.   That was way ahead of schedule.  I thought it would have taken me a lot longer to finish the crocheting.

I am now in the process of sewing the pieces together to finish this garland.  I hope to be finished by the middle of May.  No rush, but I would like to move on to other projects I have been dreaming up while working on this garland.   I have a scarf I want to knit, a quilt top that is partially made and a tiered tray that needs decorations.
