Aqua

I sewed up some hanging dishtowels using some of the pretty fat quarters from the Riley Blake Bake Sale fabric collection.  These three hanging dishtowels are going to live with dear daughter.

I love these patterned buttons.  So cute.

Christmas Fabric Collection

I’m starting a collection of Christmas fabric.  I’ve never had a really big Christmas fabric collection because when I needed Christmas fabric I would buy just enough and use it up.  But now that I’m expanding my Christmas sewing to include pillow covers, napkins, and potholders, it’s time to have a collection for Christmas sewing.   I found some really cute fabrics this year and I’m also including the pieces of pretty homespun that I bought to make the tree and wreath ornaments this year.

This collection will be stored in its very own container so I can find them during the year when I get an urge to work on Christmas 2018 ornaments, pillow covers, hanging kitchen towels, napkins, or potholders for the holiday.

And I'll definitely be shopping for more Christmas fabric throughout the year to add to my collection.

Scissor Collection

This is my sewing scissor collection.  I only use these scissors to cut thread or fabric.  I love scissors.  I keep my 8" Gingher (the cheetah print scissors third from the left top row) and 5" Gingher scissors (first on the left second row down) at the sewing machine along with a pair of the thread clippers.  The large scissors with the pink handles are Fiskar pinking shears.  A couple of the small embroidery scissors live in my hand sewing box and the rest of the scissors are stored in my sewing tool box.

I love Gingher designer series scissors.  Gingher decorates the handles with different designs to dress them up.  The pair of Cheeta that I have are really hard to find.  I bought them new 10 years ago.  I like to look through ebay once in a while to see what designs are out there.  Lots of the designs are floral and they each have a name like Julia, Jennifer, Emily, Leah, Sarah, Tessa, and Sophia.  Last week I found a new design, it is called Wren.  This design is being made in the 8", 5", and 4" size.  I have a pair of the 8" scissors on order.  I couldn't resist the cute design in purple.

Fun Fabric Package

I almost forgot that I ordered this fat quarter collection from  Craftsy on February 3rd.  They were having a great sale and I think I got these 50 fat quarters for about $56.00 (not including tax or shipping).

This collection is called Free Spirit.
