I finally finished my quilt top. I started making this last month but it was a pain to put together so I put it to the side lots of days. I used some instructions I found on Pinterest. It looked a lot easier then it was. I love the end result. I used 9 fat quarters from the Anne of Green Gables by Riley Blake Designs.
I like to sew, quilt, crochet and knit in my free time and this blog is all about my projects, past and present.

Secret Sewing And Crafting
I wanted to make a couple of items for dear daughter for Valentine's day. I saw a pinterest post with button flowers in a salt or pepper shakers. All I needed was the wire for the flowers. I didn't have a salt or pepper shaker but I did have a lovely bud vase I could use. So I made the flowers to put in the vase.
I also made a nice bag from my fabric stash to put the gifts in.
I saw a interesting video about using fusible material to use as a backing for a weaving project. I cut strips of about an inch or less and wove a piece of fabric to make a heart brooch. I had the felt backing and the pin back.
Red Rooster Quilts did a video for a pretty block she designed called The Heart of the Home. I made one with fabric from my stash.

Another Flower Wallhanging
I made myself a flower wallhanging for spring. I used more scraps and I was amazed that I found enough fabric for the background and backing.

Spring Flowers Applique
I wanted to make a spring flower wall hanging for dear daughter. I haven't made a lot of spring decor items, and she needs something for a large wall.
I didn't like any of the flower blocks that I found so I drew a petal shape and cut out eight for each flower. I also cut some bias binding for stems and a few leaf shapes.
I didn't use any heat and bond on the pieces. I used a school glue stick (I know, I railed against using glue for basting but with all the little pieces of this, the glue worked) to lightly baste each piece. It held very well and I applique it all down, quilted it and put on the binding.
I worked on it for about 7 hours over 3 days. So worth it. Oh, and I used all fabric and batting from stash. I also added two hanging triangles at the top before sewing the binding on. Each block is 10 inches square. So it finished at 10 inches wide x 30 inches long.

Tabby Road Fabric
I found a yard of Tula Pink's Tabby Road fabric and I bought it from an etsy shop. I fell in love with the pretty colors and the psychedelic kitty cat. I planned to make zipper pouches and a pillow cover with it.
I made four zipper pouches with the fabric, two had gray smokey vinyl bodies. I had the vinyl in my stash and used it.
My pillow cover is here.

Christmas Gifts Made
I made some quilted Zipper pouches, a couple of short scarves, and a cross stitch decoration. I found the cross stitch pattern in a magazine and I added the holly leaves and berries at the bottom.
