I wanted to make a spring flower wall hanging for dear daughter. I haven't made a lot of spring decor items, and she needs something for a large wall.
I didn't like any of the flower blocks that I found so I drew a petal shape and cut out eight for each flower. I also cut some bias binding for stems and a few leaf shapes.
I didn't use any heat and bond on the pieces. I used a school glue stick (I know, I railed against using glue for basting but with all the little pieces of this, the glue worked) to lightly baste each piece. It held very well and I applique it all down, quilted it and put on the binding.
I worked on it for about 7 hours over 3 days. So worth it. Oh, and I used all fabric and batting from stash. I also added two hanging triangles at the top before sewing the binding on. Each block is 10 inches square. So it finished at 10 inches wide x 30 inches long.
